My New Years Resolutions 2017

Happy New Year Everyone and welcome to 2017.
I hope everybody had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to 2017.

I will start this post by apologising for my lack of posts in the last few months. Work has been hectic and when I have been home I have been sleeping quite a bit.

Todays post is going to be my New Years Resolutions. I know this sounds cliché and many people have them and don't stick to them but I want to make a few that are achievable and not too difficult. I have never set them before so it will be interesting to see if I stick to them.

Anyways enough jabbering already .......

1. Keep a Diary.

This may seem like an odd one but keeping a diary is great for those of you that have a tendency to bottle things up. I tried it for a few days recently and so far I found it quite useful. I am going to try to write an entry everyday for the next year.

2. Get a Personal Trainer.

This sounds like your typical " New Year, New Me" post but its not like that at all for me. I have been really into the gym since April and as much as I enjoy going alone, I have become quite lazy with it for the past few weeks. I have still been going 3 times a week but sometimes I have been skipping it which isn't good. I think a trainer would be good for a gentle nudge in the right direction.

3. Upload More Regularly.

This will be the most challenging one, as like many others I struggle to find the time to sit down and actually do my blog. I would like to upload at least once a week now and spend a bit more time taking pics for it etc.

4. Experiment With Makeup More..

Makeup is my passion really so I find myself buying a bit sometimes. I used to just leave it in the drawer to look at which is stupid and a waste of money, but for the last few weeks I have been throwing away old things and things I didn't like, and have been trying an actual makeup routine daily that consists of more than just mascara and eyebrow pencil. This will also help me to upload more because I can review the products I have bought and used.

5. Stop Being A Hoarder.

I am a major hoarder when it comes to makeup and nail polishes. I used to be good at throwing things away but recently I have been collecting them and I'm not sure why. Anyway this year I will be using everything and getting rid of the things I don't like or use. This will hopefully help keep my head clear as well.

That is all of my Resolutions for 2017. I hope you enjoyed reading them and I hope they inspire you to write some too.

Thank you for reading and I will see you soon

Halloween Tag 2016!!!

Hello Everybody:)

Happy Halloween:)))))

Welcome back to my blog. Today I will be doing A Halloween Tag. I have taken some questions from a few other Halloween Tags and mashed them together. Halloween is my favourite time of year so I wanted to go into as much detail as possible.

Disclaimer: None of the pictures from this post are my own, I have got them from Google because I didn't have any pictures of the things and films I spoke about.

1. Favourite Horror Movie??

My favourite Horror movie is definitely The Devils Rejects. For those of you that haven't seen it, Devils rejects is the follow on from House of 1000 Corpses which is equally amazing. These films are about the Firefly Family who torture and murder people. If your into torture movies then this one is for you.

Otis Driftwood from Devils Rejects. Picture courtesy of Google.

2. If you were in a Horror movie, how far would you get??

In all honesty, I would probably be the Murderer. Or if I could be in Devils Rejects, I would take on the role of Otis's wife because he is gorgeous.

3. Unusual thing your afraid of?

Moths. Moths and Butterflies. Honestly those things totally freak me out!!!!!!
As soon as they come into my house I am genuinely running around screaming with a magazine or a hoover.

4. Favourite Halloween Memory?

My favourite memory has got to be going trick or treating wearing those glow in the dark fingers. I used to like that they gave me long fingernails. Also wearing those cute witches hats with the long hair attached was great.

5. Have you always been a Halloween lover??

Well ever since I knew what it was. I love this time of year anyway because it gets dark earlier and its kind of spooky. I love horror movies and will watch them at any time of the year but feel like I can watch more at Halloween.

6. Do you believe in Ghosts??

I'm not really sure because I have never personally seen one but both my parents have and that freaks me out. Has anyone seen The Woman In Black?? That was seriously freaky. Its a 12 and I couldn't sleep for days afterwards.

7. Favourite Halloween Candy???

Haribo do some Fangs Sweets that only come out at Halloween and they are delicious. They are pineapple and strawberry flavoured and are sour.

8. The First Horror Movie you ever watched??

The first Horror movie I ever watched was Scream when I was 12 years old. It honestly scared me so much, and now I watch it and it seems pathetic that I was that scared.

9. What is the last Horror Movie you watched?

I am currently watching Paranormal Activity 4 as I type this. But last night I watched Devils rejects.

10. Favourite Horror Movie Director??

110% Rob Zombie. He is the director for House of 1000 Corpses, Devils Rejects and recently did a remake of Halloween. All of which were amazing. His wife Sherri Moon stars in all three of these movies.

11. Favourite Horror Murderer??

My favourite Murderer from a Horror film is Otis Driftwood from Devils Rejects. I know I have mentioned him a lot in this post but he is seriously my favourite character ever to be honest. Second place to Otis has got to be Michael Myers from the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween. He is so powerful.

That was my Halloween Tag 2016. I hope you enjoyed it and I will be back soon. Thank you for reading:)))))

October Favourites!!

I Prevail- Scars:)))
This is not my own photo!

Hello, Welcome back to my Blog:))

I hope everybody has had a good month and are looking forward to Halloween:))

Today I shall be sharing my October Favourites with you. I haven't done one of these before so you will have to let me know what you think. I have included a mix of Beauty and Non Beauty, but I might separate the two in the future. Again, let me know which you prefer......

I am going to start with Beauty Favourites......

Tarte - Tartelette in Bloom Palette.

This month I have been loving the Tartelette in Bloom Palette. I have had this since March or April this year, and until the end of September I haven't actually used it (Shock Horror).
Anyway now I have begun using it, I am really enjoying it. The pigmentation for these shadows is soooo good, and they are very soft and buttery so as you can imagine, they apply really nicely.
I have been particularly enjoying mixing Rocker and Funny Girl for an all over lid shade. If you haven't Purchased this palette yet, I would really recommend it. You can buy it on the Tarte website or QVC for £33.

Maxfactor - Excess Shimmer Pot in "Copper"

I picked this Little Beauty up a few months ago when I was obsessing over the Maybelline Colour Tattoos.
The Excess Shimmers are pretty much the same sort of thing but they are more of a crème shadow rather than an eyeshadow base I think.
The colour of this is stunning, and I wear this when I'm in a rush because it applies quickly and looks like you have spent a lot more time applying your shadow than you actually have. These are on sale in Boots and Superdrug for £8.

Essence - More Than A Feeling

This is a fairly new discovery for me but I am obsessed. I am currently wearing it and I am very tempted to paint them the same colour next time I do them. As you can see by the label this is a new colour to the collection.
It is a combination of Purple and Red and is very vampy for Autumn. This is available for £1.60 at Wilko.

Maybelline - Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara

I put it in my Ride or Die Tag a few weeks ago and it is now going in my favourites Blog post too. I have been using this for at least a year now and it is the only mascara that really creates an impact on my lashes. It doesn't clump and I really love the wand too. This is available from Superdrug and Boots and it costs £7.99. If you have naturally dead straight lashes and you struggle to find a mascara that will hold the curl, I would really recommend this one.

The Body Shop - White Musk Perfume

Ok so technically speaking this is a Male Perfume, but I am absolutely obsessed with it. I have gotten a lot of compliments when wearing it and I personally think it smells quite feminine on me.
I am very much into Musky, more Masculine smells anyway and I actually have the Women's version of this perfume too because I love them so much.
This was £16 from The Body Shop.

Gel Illusion Topcoat.

I wear Normal Nail Polish when I do my nails, because I like to change them twice a week. This topcoat is good because it gives my nails a Gel like finish and lasts almost as long as a Gelish Manicure. At £24.99, this is quite a pricey Topcoat but its useful if you want to do your own gel manicure for a holiday.

Garnier - Skin Active, Pure Active 3 in 1.

Garnier Cleanser and No7 Face Brush

This cleanser is amazing!! I have very oily, Acne prone skin and this has cleared my skin within a few weeks. I was using a Biore Ice Cleanser before I discovered this and that caused me to break out so I switched to the Garnier Skin Active one and my skin has really cleared up (apart from the odd Menstrual spot of course). This is £5.99 in Superdrug.

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water

I also use the Skin Active version of Micellar Water, which I use to take my makeup off every night. The Micellar water helps to lift all dirt from your face without being too harsh. Even though my skin is Oily it can also be sensitive to Makeup Removers and this doesn't cause sensitivity or Breakouts. I always cleanse and tone after using this though just to double check I won't get any breakouts.

Now im going on to my last two which are both Bands.....

I Prevail.....

Ok, so I cannot contain my excitement when talking about this band!!!!!!

I discovered I Prevail when they did a cover of Taylor Swift's Blank Space on Facebook and I became obsessed!!!!! (Literally went and downloaded there whole album that second).
They are a Michigan formed Heavy Metal Band, and are AMAZING!!!!!!
I tweeted about my love of there music and they liked it!!!!!!!!! The actual band liked my tweet!!!!!!!! The have just released there new Album called Lifelines and it is amazing. My favourite tracks from them are:
Stuck In Your Head
Blank Space (the Taylor Swift Cover if you didn't guess).

Ok so another Rock band I have been loving is Nirvana.
They are an American Rock band from Washington. They were formed by Lead singer Kurt Cobain and ended in 1994 following the death of Kurt Cobain. My favourite songs are:
Come as you are
Smells like teen spirit

Thank you for reading my post, and I hope you enjoyed it:))))
See You Soon

Autumn Nail Polish Picks

Hello Everybody and welcome back:)

In todays post I will be sharing some of my favourite nail colours to wear in Autumn.

Now of course everybody is entitled to wear whatever colours they want on their nails at any time of the year, but if you are looking for some darker more muted colours to wear as the weather gets colder, then this is the post for you:)

I have chosen ten of my favourite colours, some old and some new, in a range of different brands so the price is more varied. I will also put some dupes in each colour in case you want to spend more/less.

So....... On with the post:)

 1. Wine Red

China Glaze- Prey Tell

My first Autumnal Colour is Wine Red. I think this is an essential colour for this time of year because everybody loves a red nail right? Well this shade of Red leans more towards a Mahogany or a Maroon and is incredibly sophisticated. I like to wear this with a Gold Glitter accent nail.
The Polish above is Prey Tell by China Glaze and if you are looking for a cheaper alternative I would recommend Berry Cosmo by Barry M.

2. Nude

O.P.I - Don't Pretzel My Buttons

Nude nail polish is a staple for any time of the year, and in the Autumn I like to go for a more Neutral Nude rather than a Pink Nude. Nude nails can be worn to any occasion ranging from Work to a Night out. I personally like to wear nude nails without an accent nail or with a Matte Topcoat.
If you would like a cheaper alternative I like Barry M - Lychee.

3. Dark Purple
Barry M - Oasis

Barry M's Oasis is a new favourite Autumn shade of mine.
This Dark Purple is more muted than other purples so it makes for perfect wearing in October/November.
I wore this shade last week with got a lot of compliments and I also think this colour will suit most skin tones.
O.P.I have also got a similar colour called Hello, Hawaii Ya?

4. Orange

Morgan Taylor- Put a Wing On It.

There is no better colour for this time of year than Orange. Whether you go for a Burnt to a Bright, Orange will always be wearable in October. Obviously Halloween is this reason for this and I am looking forward to trying out some Pumpkin and Candy Corn Nail Art.
Other good shades of Orange include:

 Barry M - Blood Orange
Barry M - Satsuma
 O.P.I - Its a Piazza Cake

5. Taupe

O.P.I - I Sao Paolo Over There (Bad Lighting makes it look Purple)

Taupe is 100% my favourite Nail Colour to wear in the Autumn. I love Nudes and Neutral shades all year round so I like that Taupe is a darker version of these. O.P.I creates some of the best formulas in Taupe Nail Polish as well because they have a tendency to be a bit sheer sometimes. Some of my favourites include:
O.P.I - Berlin There Done That
O.P.I - Taupeless Beach
O.P.I - Don't Bossa Nova Me Around
Morgan Taylor - I Orchid You Not

6. Forest Green
Barry M - Black Pistachio

Now I couldn't decide whether or not Forest Green was more suitable for Autumn or Winter but I think it is suitable for both. I have been really into Green nails for the last few years and I like the fact that Darker Green is becoming more popular amongst the Nail Brands. Barry M Pistachio came out as part of their 4 Halloween Colours last year and I am still loving it. I also love:
O.P.I - Christmas Gone Plaid
Barry M - Watermelon

7. Dark Brown

O.P.I - How Great Is Your Dane

Dark Brown nails might seem peculiar but these are becoming increasingly popular. I never used to really approve, but now I think it looks like hot chocolate and is nice to have in your collection if you want to do a Christmas Pudding nail art. Very Random I Know:)))))) I don't actually know any other Dark Brown polishes at current but I shall let you know if I do.

8. Blood Red
Morgan Taylor - A Touch Of Sass

Blood Red, possibly the best colour for Halloween ever?? The reason for me putting two Reds in this list is because I feel like there really is a Red for every occasion. This colour is very opaque and I love the way it applies to the nails. This colour was part of the Urban Cowgirl Collection last year. I used this for a Blood Dripping Nail Art last year and I thought it was quite a convincing blood colour. If you wanted a cheaper alternative to this shade I would go for Barry M - Pomegranate.

9. Copper

Morgan Taylor - Just Naughty Enough

One of the most popular colours on the planet for the past few months has got to be Copper. Of course I cant forget Rose Gold either but Copper really has been everywhere this year. I think it is perfect for this time of year because it reminds me of Autumn Leaves. I have seen so many lovely Copper Nail Polishes around but this particular one is being released for Christmas this year by Morgan Taylor. For a cheaper alternative Barry M- Twinkle Twinkle is very similar and has also just been released.

10. Deep Blue
Barry M - Blackberry

For my last Autumn Shade I have chosen Dark Blue. It is one of those colours that can really stand out on your nails and make them look classy without being Black. Blue is a very hard formula to get right and this one from Barry M does it brilliantly. This has a slight denim colour to it as well which is perfect for a Denim wash nail effect. Another favourite of mine is: O.P.I - Incognito in Sausalito.

That is it for my Autumn Nail Picks, I hope you find this useful and remember that you can wear whichever colours you wish, whenever you want too but this is just a guide to show you some of my faves:)))

Thank you for Reading and I will see you soon:))

The Jaclyn Hill Ride Or Die Tag!!!

Welcome Back:))))

Today I shall be doing the Jaclyn Hill Ride Or Die Tag. I have been wanting to do this for a while now and have been tagged by Lucy at JustthatLucy so I am finally going to do it:)))
The Internet has been going crazy since Jaclyn put the video up and me being nosey, love knowing what products people are into so I can go and buy more:))))))
Most of my chosen products are Drugstore because although I buy High End eyeshadow palettes, I am wary to buy High End Foundations or Mascaras etc. just incase I don't like them and have then wasted a lot of money.

Anyways on with the tag.......

1. Primer (Face)

My favourite Face Primer would definitely be the L'Oreal Lumi Magique. It is a  lightweight, pearlescent cream that applies very nicely to the skin. When you apply your foundation on top, it gives your skin a fresh, dewy look which looks lovely in the summer.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer, L'Oreal Lumi Magique, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Lighting Drops.

2. Foundation

My favourite Foundation I have used is the L'Oreal True Match. I love this because they actually have a shade to match my skin tone (which is quite fair), unlike a lot of foundations. They also do a yellow toned foundation which matches my yellow undertones.

3. Concealer

My favourite Concealer has got to be the Collection Lasting Perfection. Not only does it have a shade light enough to actually subtly highlight, the coverage is very good and only takes one small layer to conceal my dark circles and blemishes. I have gone through 3 tubes of this now.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer.

4/5. Face Powder/ Under Eye Setting Powder

My Favourite Powder for everything is the Kryolan Loose Powder. This is the first loose powder I ever used and I haven't used another powder again. It is very lightweight, easy to apply and brightening.

Kryolan Loose Powder and The Real Techniques Powder Brush

6. Blush

My favourite Blush is Maxfactor's Seductive Pink. It is a marbled blush with a few different shades of Rose Pink going through. I love a more natural Blush so this shade is perfect for me. I have always found that Rose coloured Blush suits my Pale Complexion as well.

7. Bronzer

My Favourite Bronzer is the Rimmel Natural Bronzer. I am not a huge fan of bronzers because I don't like to look to tanned, I prefer the vampire zombie kinda look you know? But this Bronzer is quite sheer and just gives me a bit of colour if I need it. I also like this as an eyeshadow.

8. Highlighter

My favourite Highlight is the Urban Decay Illuminating Powder (or at least I think that's what its called). Now technically I don't actually own this product (gasp) I have just swatched it a few times in shops and it is absolutely gorgeous. I shall be purchasing this very soon.

9. Mascara

My Favourite Mascara is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof. I have been using this everyday for about a year now and I lovvvvveeeeee it. Not only does it apply easily and with a great wand, it hold my curl all day and doesn't irritate my eyes like a few mascaras do.

Revlon Lash Curler and The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

10. Lipstick

My favourite lipstick is Rimmel Kate Moss shade 101. This is a beautiful Pink toned Nude and its very natural. A friend introduced me to this a few years ago and although I'm not an avid lipstick/ lip product wearer I love this if I want a little something. I usually wear it over a Lip balm for a slightly more subtle look.

11. Liquid Lipstick

For my Liquid Lipstick option I have chosen Makeup Revolution Lip Salvation in the shade Velvet Rebel. I really do not wear this much because its quite Autumnal and I'm very clumsy so would end up smudging it across my face but its a stunning colour and the Lip Salvations last a long time.

12. Lip gloss

My chosen Lip gloss is the Tanya Burr Lip gloss in the shade Daydream. This came with her Christmas Palette last year. It is a sheer gloss with tiny gold reflects in It which catch the light very well. I recently wore this to a wedding and I got a lot of compliments.

My Custom Made Lip Palette, Tanya Burr Daydream and Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet in Velvet Rebel

13. Eyeshadow Palette

This was the hardest question for me because I have quite a few Eyeshadow Palettes which are high end and drugstore and I love them all for different reasons. I have chosen the Morphe 35O Palette. I think this palette is so versatile, there are soo many colours to choose from and the pigmentation is insane!!!!!!!!!! I also have a Blog post on whether Morphe is worth the hype if you haven't read it.

Morphe 35O- This photo does not do it justice

14. Perfume

Last but definitely not least is my favourite Perfume. I have chosen Lovely Sheer by Sarah Jessica Parker. I bought this at the start of the summer and have been wearing this pretty much everyday since. I would describe the smell as quite musky and feminine.

15. Setting Spray

My favourite setting spray is the Urban Decay All Nighter. I have been using this for a year now and I have noticed that it does make my makeup last for the whole day. I also love Mac Fix + for giving my eyeshadow a more foiled effect.

That's it (finally) for my version of the Ride or Die tag. I hope you enjoyed it and I now tag Joanne from Makeupjo94.

See you soon:)))))
